ARE Event and Tanaiste Keynote

         

An Tánaiste, Mary Coghlan, TD, will provide the keynote address on “Research in the Regions” for the IT&T Conference 2010(www.ittconference.com) in CoLab, Letterkenny IT’s Business Development Centre on Friday October 22nd at 9.30am.                                                            

The speech will be preceded by coffee and light breakfast at 8.45am, followed by presentations and demonstrations by the Enterprise Ireland funded Applied Research Centres in Information and Communication Technologies. These centresare based in Institutes of Technology and transfer the knowledge gained from theirresearch via collaborative projects with indigenous and multinational companies operating in Ireland. The areas of expertise of the centres presenting are: 

WiSAR Lab (www.wisar.org) - the application of Wireless Sensor Networks in Body Area Networks and buildings, with an emphasis on evaluating andminimising the power consumption of wireless devices used.

Tec Centre (www.tec-centre.ie) - networked embedded systems to control the operation of products such as MP3 players, mobile phones and sensors used in cars, buildings, energy and healthcare.

SUNAT (www.ait.ie/sri) – the seamless delivery of multimedia content across different network technologies using fixed, mobile, wireless networks and networked service platforms and devices.

CASALA (www.casala.ie) - Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) environmentsintegrating stand-alone assistive technologies, with elements of smart homes, and telehealth services to promote the ability for older people tolive independently and age well.

3CS (www.3cs.info) - the next generation of telecommunications and Internet services using advanced new networks, services and applications, cloud-computing and media solutions. You are invited to attend these presentations, the keynote speech and the following panel discussion.
